Preserving history, creating the future

The Raketa Watch Factory in collaboration with the famous Moscow Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre presents an exclusive watch model — Raketa Theatre. The limited series consists of 100 individually numbered pieces. Imagine it’s not just a watch, but a unique ticket to a special performance — where there are only 100 seats in the auditorium. Each watch is like a personalized theatre seat with an engraved number:

1/100, 2/100…100/100.

The dial of the model is inspired by the famous pediment clock that decorates the facade of the Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre, where each hour corresponds to the figurine of an animal. Each figurine image has been reinterpreted by the Raketa’s designers in a modern avant-garde aesthetic and applied to the dial.

The restrained design of the Raketa Theatre watches is elegantly enhanced by three stylish accents: an avant-garde dial, multi-colored printing on the rotor, and contrasting stitching on the leather strap. These thoughtful details resonate with each other, creating a stricking balance of restraint and distinctiveness.

New time for the Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre

The partnership with the Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre goes beyond developing an exclusive watch model. Raketa specialists are also consulting the theatre on the restoration of its famous monumental facade clock. This project reflects the brand’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage and its tradition of incorporating art into watch movements.

The heart of the Raketa Theatre model is its automatic movement, manufactured from A to Z at the Raketa Watch Factory in St. Petersburg, one of the few watch manufacturers in the world that produces its own movements, relying on a base of Soviet-era production technology that passed down through generations.

In 1929, Irish designer Eileen Gray created E.1027 on the sun-soaked Côte d’Azur – a bold and hidden gem of avant-garde architecture. This striking house was meant to be a personal refuge.

But when the legendary architect Le Corbusier stumbled upon it, fascination turned to obsession. He covered its walls with his murals, completely disregarding Gray’s wishes and her vision. His defiant act ignited a battle for creative control, with Gray demanding restitution for the destruction of her work. He ignored her wishes and instead built his famous Cabanon house directly behind E.1027.

The new version of the Avant-Garde watch, while based on the original model with its famous red triangular hand, rises to a fundamentally new design level.

It now has a multi-layered dial, a sophisticated case and more striking hands with Super-LumiNova glow, showing the time even in the darkest dark. One of the main design innovations was to replace the usual numbers with words: zero, three, six, nine. Three main avant-garde colours – red, white, and black – combined with the austere geometry of hands and fonts help emphasize the beauty and uniqueness of each moment. Even a quick glance at your wrist will remind you of this, revealing each time a new art composition on the dial.


Drawing on the idea that the Raketa Avant-Garde model is “art in motion”, you can constantly interpret and reinterpret this ever-changing artwork, filling it each time with new meanings.

The abstract geometrical shapes on the dial are set in motion by a Raketa automatic movement designed and manufactured at the Raketa Watch Factory in St. Petersburg. Looking through the transparent case back, you can appreciate the beauty of the movement and enjoy its harmonious work.

L’art en mouvement


Basée sur le modèle original avec sa célèbre aiguille triangulaire rouge, la nouvelle version de la montre Raketa “Avant-Garde” monte en gamme.

Ce modèle a désormais un cadran multicouche, un boîtier plus sophistiqué ainsi que des aiguilles plus saisissantes qui, grâce au Super-LumiNova, indiquent l’heure même dans l’obscurité. Mais une des principales décisions en matière de design a été de remplacer les chiffres habituels par des lettres : zéro, trois, six, neuf. Les trois principales couleurs de l’art avant-gardiste – rouge, blanc et noir – associées à une géométrie stricte des aiguilles et des polices de caractères permettent de souligner la beauté et le caractère unique de chaque instant. Celebrity Homes: Andy Warhol Home Sold For $50 Million USD

Warhol Home InteriorsMontauk, New York was celebrating its biggest estate sale ever after the closing on the 5.7-acre beachfront estate at $50 million USD that pop artist Andy Warhol bought in 1972 for $225,000 USD.

The most recent owner of the compound was CEO of J. Crew, Mickey Drexler, who bought it in 2007 for $27 million USD. He listed it in 2015 for $85 millionUSD that included a 24-acre horse farm and equine center, which the buyer, Adam Lindemann, opted out of the purchase. Lindemann is the founder of the Venus Over Manhattan Gallery and a major collector of Warhol’s works making the property’s history especially significant for him.

Warhol’s first gig out of art school was as a fashion illustrator for several of the top women’s magazines. With the money acquired from his illustrations, he purchased a large loft on New York’s West Side and opened the Factory, where he turned toward creating industrial art. It wasn’t long before the Factory and Andy were attracting like-minded modernists from hippies to wannabe journalists and actors to drag queens and drug addicts. It was the start of New York’s avant-garde scene where Warhol held court. In addition to his painting, he branched out into music, film and journalism where he met Paul Morrissey who became the director of some of Warhol’s early films.

In 1972 when Warhol’s popularity and success were peaking, he and Morrissey decided to invest in property in the Hamptons and purchased the family fishing camp of the Church family of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda fame. The estate includes a 3,800-square-foot main house and five cottages completely hidden from public view with wide beaches and ocean views. Totaling almost 15,000 square feet with nine bedrooms and twelve baths, Drexler had it all meticulously restored by architect Thierry Despont.

Warhol’s stream of celebrity guests and renters put Montauk on the international map. Frequent guests included Liza Minnelli, Liz Taylor, John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Jackie Kennedy and Lee Radziwill. The parties were legendary and stories of happy days idled away on the Hamptons’ beach are recounted in many celebrity biographies.

Even though the Warhol home sale set a record at $50 million USD, his most famous paintings such as “Eight Elvises” and “Silver Car Crash” have sold for $100 million USD and higher.
