Sugar Bio Battery

Now for a bit of chemistry…don’t fret if you don’t understand this- basically a bunch of electrons are given off in a chain reaction making (you guessed it) electricity. Here’s a more technical explanation: The new sugar-based biobattery consists
of an anode (carbon paper coated with carbon nanotubes), a sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene
copolymer (Nafion) membrane to separate the electrodes, and a platinum cathode. This electrode system is connected to a vessel filled with a cocktail of enzymes and mediators floating
