Dust off those old coins you have tucked away and see what they are worth. Better yet, leave the dust on, (don’t clean them at all) and bring them to Branlyn Community Centre on Sunday June 8, 2014.
The Brantford Numismatic Society is presenting the 53rd Annual Brantford Coin Show from 9am to 3pm.
Over 70 dealer tables will be filled with coins, paper money, supplies and anything and everything related to coin collecting. A huge variety of interesting items for the child starting their small collection to the advanced numismatist.
Dealers and club members will be on hand to offer a free coin evaluation if you are curious about its value in todays market.
The BNS has been in Brantford since 1960 and meets the third Sunday of each month, with some exceptions, and breaks for the summer. The purpose of the club is to educate each other on various bits of coin collecting and to foster discussion on the history of coins and also how to store and showcase them.
The Coin Show has free admission and encourages families to make a day of it to check out the show. There will be displays and a Kid’s Table to offer coins and collecting supplies at low cost. Lunch will be available on site. For more information, email Brantfordcoinclub@Hotmail.com. Please mention the Silo when contacting. Branlyn Community Centre is at 238 Brantwood Park Road, in Brantford. For the Silo, Cassidy Stroud.
