Wilson MacDonald Memorial School Museum and Faith Centennial United Church Presents: Fish Dinner Fundraiser, Music & Talk May 13, 2014 – 4:00 pm Join us at Faith Centennial United Church 28 Main Street West, Selkirk between 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 for a fish dinner fundraiser. Proceeds for this event will go to the Wilson MacDonald Memorial School Museum and Faith Centennial United Church.
At 7:00 pm, local diver Mike Fletcher will talk about some of his adventures during his decade’s long career as a diver. Mike started out a most unlikely candidate for the life that awaited him. Born on a farm in Haldimand County, the son of a long line of farmers, Mike seemed destined to continue in the family tradition. But life had a different plan and today Mike is best known for his work with famous American author Clive Cussler.
As expedition leader, Mike, along with Cussler’s team, “The Sea Hunters” “travelled the globe” in searching for famous shipwrecks and finding true adventure. Following the Sea Hunters series, which concluded in 2005, the fletchers went on to work on several other projects and to date been important characters in over on hundred episodes of underwater TV, including their own series “The Dive Detectives.” Join us on May 13th, as Mike Fetcher shares film of favourite moments in underwater adventure, and experience the fascinating journey of how a local farm boy found his way onto a world stage as an International explorer/film maker.
Tickets must be purchased in advance at a cost of $20.00 at the Wilson MacDonald Memorial School Museum. For more information please contact Dana Stavinga at 905-776-3319 or by email at email@example.com. Please mention THE SILO when contacting.
