Hold on as an interactive multi-media presentation takes you through the course of the planet from 1890 to 2030! Join the revealing voyage as the blackened room is taken over by a Captain and six Lieutenants of the Spaceship Earth traveling across time. That was the lead-in teaser sent to us in mid Novermber.

On Friday Nov.30th, 2012, 7pm DSS cafeteria, dream welcomed MindShift for a special presentation to the Dunnville community. MindShift is all about SHIFTING our culture toward environmental sustainability! It is a youth-designed and youth-led program which aims to make a “sustainable” difference in schools and communities. Through a series of thoughtful dramatic parodies on our daily lives, MindShift illustrated how each of us has so many ways and so much power to “shift it” and make a difference.

Additionally, this evening highlighted an exhibit titled “Sustainable Living” presented by all the local grade 8 students. dream invited grade eight students in Dunnville to participate by expressing their feelings about what it take to live sustainable. dream asked them to be bold, frank and passionate about their work. It might just be the right mix to a better world for us all.

dream’s presentation of MindShift & Grade 8 Environment Contest was generously sponsored by Peter J. Dieleman Co-operators Insurance and TD Friends of the Environment. dream is a unique, community-based organization of volunteers that builds Dunnville’s capacity to better serve its youth and the community. dream offers a four-year, youth mentorship program and hosts other community initiatives that include a field school program in Ek Balam, Mexico to promote global literacy.
